KCC Hole #1
The starting hole at The Kennett Country Club is a medium length par 5 that plays up to 510 yards from the back tees. A large tree guards the left side of the fairway while a fairway bunker on the right is reachable by some players. Over the green there is a large lake to catch shots going over the green. A good ‘early birdie’ opportunity for the long hitter and a solid 3-shot hole for the medium handicapper.
Playing Tips – Long Hitter
This par 5 is reachable in two by the long hitters. A long, straight drive that avoids the tree on the left and bunker on the right side of the fairway could leave you with a fairway wood or long iron into the green. Immediately over the green is a lake that will catch long attempts to reach this green in two. A narrow green makes an up and down from either side difficult. If you miss this green, leave it just down front for your best chance at an up and down birdie.Â

Playing Tips – Short Hitter
Without length off the tee, this is a solid 3-shot par five. Your drive should favor the right-center of the fairway toward the fairway bunker to setup for an easy second shot layup. A mid to long iron will leave you with third shot from 100 to 130 yards into a narrow green. Club selection is important as most shots that go long find the lake immediately behind the green. A third shot missed short, instead of left or right, will provide the best chance for an up and down par.
