2008 MGA Golf Tournament

Attention: Kennett Country Club MGA Members!

The 2008 MGA 2-Man scramble will be held at Kennett Country Club on September 27-28.  The first round can be played either Friday or Saturday at any time.

2nd round will be a 1:00 PM tee time on Sunday, September 28th.

Tournament Information:

Teams will be preflighted with 1/2 of total team handicap. Players should play either the white or gold tees according to where your current handicap has been established.  The entry fee of $60 per team includes the tournament and skins game.  Entry fee can be paid to Mike or Vickie in the Pro Shop.

There will also be a Friday Night Shootout at approximately 4:30 or 5:00pm with no entry fee.

MGA Meeting:

The next MGA meeting will be moved to Monday September 29th – the Monday immediately after the MGA Tournament.  Meal cost is $10 per person – Randy Morgan will be cooking steaks.

MGA Match play events are still in progress and we’re finally down to the final three contestants.  Keep an eye out on the site and we’ll post the brackets and match information once play has been completed.  The date has been set for the Club Championship but the Kennett Cup tournament date is still waiting to be scheduled.  Review updated information below or on the Tournament Schedule.

MGA Golf Cart Giveaway

It is almost that time… the Kennett Country Club Men’s Golf Association is selling tickets to win a brand new Club Car golf cart! Only 100 tickets will be sold, so your odds of winning are very, very good. In addition to the brand new golf cart the MGA is giving away, there will be 5 additional tickets drawn for cash prizes from $100 to $500 dollars.

Time is running out to get your tickets – at the last meeting, there were only approximately 20 tickets left to be sold!  Ticket price is $100 per ticket, and you can’t beat the odds with only 100 tickets being sold.   One lucky person is going to win a brand new Club Car golf cart and five others are going to walk away with cash prizes – but you can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket.  There are less than 20 tickets left for sale and the drawing will take place next weekend at the 2-Man scramble golf tournament the weekend of August 16th.

The KCC Men’s Golf Association is proud to sponsor this event and proceeds from ticket sales will go to the MGA.  Even if you don’t win, know that you made a positive contribution to the MGA that funds many projects that improve our golf course and country club.

2008 MGA Golf Getaway

The Kennett Country Club MGA held the 2nd annual  Golf Getaway party this past weekend at the club.  Last year’s event was a tremendous success as was the 2008 party.  In 2007 this proved to be a major fund-raising event for the KCC Men’s Golf Association and this year was just as successful.

Captain Tony provided an excellent meal to those that attended and excellent entertainment was provided by local Kennett band Jaded.  A total of 96 out of the possible 100 tickets were sold to the event which included dinner for two, live band entertainment and the prize drawings.   The winners of the gift certificate drawings are listed below:

MGA – LGA Mixer

Just a quick reminder of the Men’s and Ladies Golf Association mixer tonight at 7:00pm.

Randy Morgan is cooking Pork Chops as in the past. Meal cost is $10 per person, LGA members eat for free.

Golf Activity: Play nine holes from the tees where your handicap is established using ONLY / ANY 4 clubs in your bag – prizes will be awarded for low scores.

2006 Men’s Golf Association Tournament

Join us for the 2006 Men’s Golf Association Tournament coming up on October 6-8, 2006. 

Tournament format is a two-person scramble and will be pre-flighted based on the entrants combined handicaps.
Members of the MGA can play Friday, October 6th or Saturday, October 7th to qualify.  The final round is scheduled for Sunday, October 8th with a 1:00pm start.

The entry fee to the tournment will include a steak dinner on Monday, October 9th, the regular meeting time.  Tournament prizes will be awarded at the Monday night meeting and dinner.

Sign up for the tournament at the Pro Shop.  If you don’t play in the tournament, you are still welcome to join us for the steak dinner and MGA meeting Monday night. 

MGA Meeting – August 14th, 2006

The next Men’s Golf Association meeting at Kennett Country Club is scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006.

Dinner will be at approximately 6:45pm with a short meeting following.

Golf Activity: Play your own ball from the white tees.  Write your age and handicap on your scorecard when reporting you score.

MGA Meeting – Monday June 12th

The next men’s golf association meeting will be held at Kennett Country Club on Monday June 12, 2006. All members of the KCC MGA are invited to come out to enjoy Porky’s Barbecue from this month’s chef, Jingo Cole.

Golf Event: Play your own ball from the Gold Tees – be sure your name and handicap are listed on your scorecard.

Dinner will begin around 6:45pm with a short meeting following the meal. We hope to see everyone there.

The next KCC Men’s Golf Association meeting will be held Monday, May 8, 2006.
